Microfluidics Adds Three to Processor Line

Microfluidics has expanded its range of product offerings by adding three new Microfluidizer bench-top processors to its M-110P family. The new M-110P-20, M-110P-20S and M-110PS deliver all the features and benefits of the M-110P bench-top lab machine, while adding new capabilities and benefits to address the unique needs of the personal care industry. The M-110P family processors create nanoemulsions and nanosuspensions that do not separate prior to use. The M-110P-20 is a new mid-pressured version of the higher-pressured M-110P model. It operates at a lower pressure and lower cost, is able to deliver nanoemulsions, nanosuspensions, nanoencapsulations and nanodispersions at 20,000psi or lower, and works with a 50ml minimum sample size. The M-110PS and M-110P-20S Microfluidizer processors are designed to work with smaller minimum sample sizes of 25 ml. All three new models include a glass reservoir for fast and accurate visual identification. More info: www.microfluidicscorp.com, mixing [email protected] or 800-370-5452

Cohesium from Silab Tightens the Skin Junction

Cohesion of the various epidermal layers is crucial to ensure homeostasis of the barrier function, limit excessive water loss and thereby guarantee good moisturization of the skin. Silab has developed Cohesium, an active ingredient purified from the tubers of Ophiopogon. According to Silab, Cohesium triggers the formation of tight junctions, increases the levels of Natural Moisturizing Factors in the stratum corneum, improves the cohesion of the upper layers of the epidermis and restructures the skin’s barrier function.
